Healthy Baked Donuts With Maple Butter

Healthy Baked Donuts With Maple Butter will nearly melt in your mouth; they are so tender. Add half a tablespoon of maple butter drizzle for just 35 calories, or spread some on like frosting, and you are in for a delicious treat that tastes like a maple bar but a whole lot healthier. I wouldn’t joke about this because a maple bar is my favorite donut.

When using a donut pan, fill the donut sections 3/4 full for the best results. If the sections are too full, the donuts will rise over the top, covering part of the center.

Let the donuts rest for 10 minutes after removing them from the oven, then gently remove them and cool them on a wire rack. Add maple butter drizzle, vanilla frosting, and/or chocolate drizzle.

To Make Healthy Baked Donuts With Maple Butter, You Will Need These Ingredients:

  • Apple juice
  • Apple cider vinegar
  • Pure maple syrup
  • Vanilla extract
  • Olive oil
  • All-purpose flour, oat flour, or a one-to-one gluten-free baking blend. I used half oat flour and half King Arthur Measure-For-Measure Gluten-Free Baking Blend.
  • Baking powder ~ corn-free if needed
  • Salt
  • Cinnamon
  • Nutmeg
  • Maple Butter ~ or any frosting, Pillsbury Vanilla Frosting is gluten-free and vegan.  I use Parker’s Maple Butter; the flavor is unbelievable.

These are so tasty that you might want to double the recipe. Best of all, they only take about 10 minutes to bake. They are delicious plain, or you can lightly frost them or add some drizzle. Maple butter is amazing and my favorite. Vanilla or chocolate comes in a close second for me. The maple butter, drizzle, and frosting will firm up when they reach room temperature. I add the toppings 10 minutes after the donuts come out of the oven and are removed from the pan.

Try these Double Chocolate Chip Baked Donuts, too; they are a guilt-free treat.

Enjoy!
