Ingredients
1/3cupApple juice
1tspApple cider vinegar
1/4cupPure maple syrup
3/4tspVanilla extract
3tbspOlive oil
1cupall-purpose flour or a gluten-free one-to-one blend or oat flour. I used half cup of a gluten-free blend and half cup of oat flour.
1tspBaking powder ~ corn-free if needed
1/4tspSalt
1/2tspCinnamon
1/4tspNutmeg
Optional maple butter for drizzle or any frosting flavor you like
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350-degrees F.
Lightly grease a donut pan.
In a mixing bowl add first 5 ingredients and whisk together.
In a small bowl add flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Stir to combine.
Add flour mixture to apple juice mixture and stir to combine.
Spoon into prepared donut pan filling just 3/4 full.
Bake for 10 minutes or a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Remove from oven and let donuts sit for 7 minutes before removing them from the pan. While they continue to cool on a wire rack add drizzle or lightly frost. As the donuts cool the drizzle or frosting will firm up.
Drizzle has about 35 calories for 1/2 a tablespoon.
Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days at room temperature or refrigerate. Freeze for longer storage.
