Tasty Fish Tacos just might be the perfect quick and easy, yet healthy weeknight dinner. These spicy flavors will perk you up especially at the end of a busy week when ideas and energy are low.
I tend to order fish tacos a lot when we go out for dinner…when in doubt order fish tacos. It’s usually a safe option for me. On these tacos the fish rub is slightly smokey and spicy, in fact, it’s a perfect blend of flavors.
My daughter gave this recipe to me. That girl can really whip up some good meals. Even the leftover cold fish is delicious.
The rub goes on both sides of the fish. You can use any white fish you like just make sure it’s deboned. For our fish tacos, we use Mahi Mahi, Tilapia, or Cod.
We like to use lots of the rub.
Then the fish is grilled on both sides. You can leave the pieces of fish whole or break it up as you see here.
We like any or all of these toppings with our fish tacos:
-shredded colored cabbage
-mango salsa
-regular salsa
-guacamole
-tartar sauce (try our homemade tartar sauce)
-pico de gallo
Sides that go great with fish tacos are Mexican or Spanish rice, refried beans, black beans, corn on the cob, chips and more salsa!!
Serve your fish tacos with flour or corn tortillas. We usually just warm them up for a few seconds in the microwave.
Weight watcher points are 5 points per 6 oz serving. If you choose to not cook with oil subtract 1 point per serving.
I honestly wasn’t too crazy about making fish tacos at home until my daughter made these for dinner one night. Maybe it’s the seasoning or maybe it’s the fact that Tilapia and cod are two of my favorite types of fish; just know these are crazy good!
Another Idea:
Try a burrito bowl ~ with this seasoned fish, rice, sautéed onions and peppers, black beans, salsa, and guacamole. You’ll love it!!
However, you choose to mix and match this spicy fish I am sure it will satisfy your taste buds!
