Peanut Butter and Jam Swirl Bars
Peanut butter and jam swirl bars are scrumptious for breakfast and a tasty treat at snack time. They are full of healthy and wholesome ingredients. In my opinion, the delicious swirls of jam are truly the best part. It’s a whole new way to enjoy the always-popular P& J.

Peanut Butter and Jam Swirl Bars are gluten-free, have a peanut-free option, and can be made vegan. Replace the peanut butter with sunflower seed butter, and you’ve got a peanut-free swirl bar
To make a vegan P & J swirl bar, you will need to use these two ingredients:
- A flax egg
- Pure maple syrup
To Make Peanut Butter and Jam Swirl Bars, You Will Need These Ingredients:
- Ripe banana ~ just barely ripe for Low FODMAP diets
- Natural peanut butter ~ or any other nut butter, or use a sunflower seed butter for nut-free diets.
- Lg egg or flax egg (1 Tbsp ground flax seed mixed with 3 Tbsp warm water, stir, and let sit 3-5 minutes)
- Pure maple syrup or honey ~ pure maple syrup for vegan
- Vanilla extract
- Oat flour ~ gluten-free if needed
- Baking powder ~ corn-free if needed
- Hemp seeds
- Jam flavor of your choice ~ check for allergens such as hidden corn
As an option, I added a few cut-up strawberries and pushed them into the bars before baking, as seen in the before-and-after-baking photos below.

These bars can be stored at room temperature for a few days in a container with a lid or a sealed baggie. For longer storage, store them in the refrigerator or freezer. I truly love these bars, and I hope you do, too!

Peanut Butter and Jam Swirl Bars
Ingredients
- 1 large Ripe banana ~ just barely ripe for Low FODMAP diets
- 1/4 cup Natural peanut butter ~ or any other nut butter or use a sunflower seed butter for nut-free diets.
- 1 Large Egg or flax egg Flax Egg- 1 Tbsp ground flax seed mixed with 3 Tbsp warm water, stir and let sit 3-5 minutes
- 1/4 cup Pure maple syrup or honey ~ pure maple syrup for vegan
- 1/2 tsp Vanilla extract
- 1 cup Oat flour~ gluten-free if needed
- 1/2 tsp Baking powder ~ corn-free if needed
- 1 tbsp Hemp seeds
- 2-3 Tbsp Jam or your choice ~ check for allergens such as hidden corn
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 F
- Line a 8-inch square pan with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, mash the banana.
- Add peanut butter or sunflower seed butter and mix well.
- Add egg or flax egg, pure maple syrup or honey, and vanilla extract. Mix well.
- Stir in flour, baking powder, and hemp seeds. Stir to combine all ingredients.
- Pour into the prepared pan. Drop 2-3 Tbsp of jam on top, and with a dull knife, swirl the jam throughout the batter but don’t stir it in.
- Bake the bars for 18-20 minutes.
- Check doneness with a toothpick. When the toothpick is placed in the center of the bars, the toothpick should come out clean of dough.
- Enjoy warm or at room temperature.
- These bars are freezer-friendly.
