Meaty Chorizo Chili

A hearty, high-protein, meaty chili with a slight smoky flavor. A gluten-free Chorizo chili recipe.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb Ground turkey chicken, pork, or beef
  • 1 Bunch Green onion bunch tops only- chopped finely
  • 1 Lg Green pepper - diced
  • 1 Pkg SIETE Chorizo Seasoning Skillet Cooking Spice Packet
  • 1 15 -ounce Can of Black beans drained and rinsed
  • 1 15 -ounce Can of Red beans drained and rinsed
  • 1 15-ounce Can of Tomato sauce
  • 2 14.5-ounce Cans of Tomatoes- pureed that's optional; I just prefer pureed tomatoes over chunks
  • 1 15-ounce Can of Water
  • 1 tsp Cumin
  • 1 tsp Cayenne
  • Few grinds of Black pepper
  • Few grinds of Sea salt
  • 1/2 tbsp Chili pepper
  • 4 ounce Optional grated cheese and chopped onion to serve with the chili.

Instructions

  • Brown ground meat and drain in a strainer.
  • Return the cooked meat to a kettle, and sauté with the chopped green onion tops and green pepper.
  • Add Chorizo seasoning spice packet and 1/2 cup of water. Mix well.
  • Add the remaining ingredients and stir to combine.
  • Simmer for 30-40 minutes.
