Peanut Butter & Pumpkin Dog Treats

Ingredients

  • 1 cup peanut butter unsalted natural is preferred either crunchy or creamy.
  • 2 LG eggs
  • 1/2 cup pumpkin puree not pie filling
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 cups flour whole wheat is preferred. I used 1 cup of whole wheat and one cup of unbleached white flour
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 1 Tbsp honey this is optional

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone liner.
  • In a medium-size mixing bowl add peanut butter, eggs, pumpkin, water, and optional honey. Mix well.
  • Add flour and spices. Stir to combine all ingredients.
  • On a lightly floured surface knead the dough about 1 minute. Divide dough into 4 portions.
  • Roll one portion of dough into a circle about 1/4 inch  - 3/8 inch thick on a floured surface.
  • Use cookie cutters to cut out the dog treats.
  • Place cookies on the prepared baking sheet about 1/2 inch apart.
  • Bake dog treats for about 15 minutes. Let treats cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes then transfer to a wire rack.
  • Store dog treats in an airtight container for 1-2 weeks or freeze for longer storage.
