Ingredients

  • 1 pkg gluten-free graham crackers 18 whole crackers
  • 3/4 cup regular salted butter or dairy-free butter.
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 cup chopped roasted salted mixed nuts (or any kind you like)
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips I use a 3/4 cup. Allergy-free if needed.

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350. Prepare a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a small saucepan, melt butter or butter substitute with brown sugar on medium heat. Stir constantly and allowing ingredients to combine.
  • When the mixture starts getting bubbly, but not boiling, remove from heat and add chopped nuts. Mix well.
  • Pour mixture over crackers, spreading it as you go. Bake for 8-10 minutes.
  • Remove from the oven and let cool.

Notes

Options you can add on top:
1. Of course, not adding anything is delicious.
2.  Sprinkle chocolate chips over warm bars and let them melt slightly while the bars are cooling, then smooth the melted chocolate over the top.
3. Melt chocolate chips in a small custard dish in the microwave and drizzle over the bars when they are cooled.
