Tropical Smoothie Bowl With Collagen

This Tropical Smoothie Bowl With Collagen is truly a special treat and, as always, thick enough to enjoy with a spoon. I don’t know about you, but I personally prefer a thicker smoothie bowl, and the more toppings, the better.

Normally I add oatmeal to my smoothie bowls, and you certainly can add some to this recipe as well. The oats were left out this time because I was focusing on a smoothie bowl with just the added collagen. The protein adds balance to the natural sugars from the fruits, which for some people is important because it helps stabilize the blood sugar.

I suggest prepping several freezer bags full of fruit to keep on hand in the freezer. That way, you are just minutes away from your next smoothie bowl.

To Make a Tropical Smoothie Bowl With Collagen You Will Need These Ingredients:

  • Banana
  • Pineapple
  • Papaya or Mango ~ papaya for Low FODMAP
  • Clementine (Also known as a Cutie)
  • Unflavored collagen peptides ~ I use Vital Protein Collagen Peptides
  • Optional Toppings:
  • Blueberries
  • Unsweetened coconut
  • Dried cranberries
  • Macadamia nuts ~ or nuts/seeds of your choice
  • Healthy allergy-friendly granola would be fantastic sprinkled over the smoothie bowl too.

Enjoy! I hope you love this smoothie bowl as much as I do!!

You might also like to try one of my other smoothie bowls, Chocolate Protein Smoothie Bowl and  Mango-Pear Chocolate Smoothie Bowl. Both are big enough to share, and the mango-pear smoothie bowl is made without bananas.

In these smoothie bowl recipes, I use my favorite gluten-free vegan protein powder, Orgain Organic Protein Creamy Chocolate.  Please note: Orgain is not considered a Low FODMAP product.

Vital Proteins are Low FODMAP.

Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 1 banana ~ less ripe for Low FODMAP ~ frozen and cut in chunks
  • 3/4 cup pineapple chunks ~frozen
  • 1/2 cup papaya chunks ~frozen
  • 1 Seedless Clementine mandarin ~fresh not frozen and peeled
  • 2 tbsp Unflavored collagen ~ I use Vital Protein Collagen Peptides
  • Optional Toppings:
  • 1/2 cup Frozen blueberries
  • Unsweetened coconut
  • Dried cranberries
  • Chopped Macadamia nuts

Instructions

  • Place all ingredients in a Vitamix or a similar heavy duty blender.

  • Pour smoothie into a bowl and add some toppings. I like to stir the frozen blueberries in because it maintains that “thicker” smoothie consistency I love.

This is so quick and easy I’m going to make this all the time. I have SIBO and it’s so hard to find desserts that don’t bother my stomach. Thank you Mary!
