GF Thin Pizza Crust ~ Dairy and egg-free options.

It’s easy to make your own gluten-free thin pizza crust. I mix this entire recipe in my Kitchenaid Mixer; no kneading is required.

This is an easy thin-crust pizza recipe for gluten-free folks. It is a very thin, soft crust that blends especially well with pizza flavors. Leftovers are a perfect after-school snack too.

I used to make pepperoni and olive pizza for my son once a week, and he would take the leftovers in his lunch. Everyone else in the family liked the leftovers too, even the non-gluten-free family members.

GF Thin Pizza Crust             Serves about 6

1 1/2 tsp dry yeast granules
About 1 cup of warm water, 110-115 degrees
1 tsp sugar
2/3 cup rice flour (brown or white)
1/3 cup potato starch flour
1 Tbsp potato flour
1 1/2 tsp melted shortening ~ Spectrum is a brand I use, but any is fine.
1 tsp salt


Easy Pizza Sauce
1 -8oz can of tomato sauce
2 tsp oregano leaves
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/8 tsp black pepper

Mix all ingredients together in a small dish and let the sauce sit until ready to use.

Toppings of your choice:
Tofu bacon
Impossible beef crumbles
Dried tomatoes
Mozzarella cheese or a dairy-free substitute.
Preheat oven to 400

Add sugar and 1/2 cup of warm water in a mixing bowl, sprinkle yeast over water, and stir in. Let sit for a couple of minutes until yeast bubbles.

Add all the other ingredients and 1/4 cup of remaining warm water. Mix the dough well, adding the final amount of water as needed until the dough has the consistency of a nice cake frosting that would spread, not run. All water may not be needed. It actually varies every time I make it, oddly enough.

Grease a 10″ x 15″ baking sheet with edges. Pour batter into the pan and spread with a spatula, forcing the batter up the sides of the pan if possible.

Precook crust for about 5-7 minutes. Let cool down a few minutes, then cover with sauce (Easy Pizza Sauce) and toppings of your choice.

Return to oven and bake for about 20-23 minutes. Times may vary.

This pizza is ready to go into the preheated oven.

This rectangular shape of pizza is cut into smaller rectangles or squares to serve. (You will need to use two hands to hold your piece of pizza.)
