Celebration Muddy Buddies – Gluten-Free With Dairy and Nut-Free Options

Add a little salty flavor to the mix by tossing in some small-sized pretzels, gluten-free if needed. This is an excellent complement to the chocolate.

To Make Celebration Muddy Buddies You Will Need These Ingredients:
- 12oz box of rice or corn Chex ~ or some of each; that’s what I do
- Creamy peanut butter ~ or substitute with sunflower seed butter for nut-free
- Butter or a dairy-free substitute like Plant Based Country Crock
- Semi-sweet chocolate chips
- Vanilla
- Powdered sugar
- Plain or Peanut M&Ms or dairy and nut-free substitutes mentioned prior

Celebration Muddy Buddies
Ingredients
- 1 12 oz box of rice or corn Chex ~ or some of each
- 3/4 cup creamy peanut butter ~ substitute with sunflower seed butter if nut-free
- 1/4 cup butter or a dairy-free substitute like Plant Based Country Crock
- 1 + 1/4 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 + 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 1-2 cups Plain or Peanut M&Ms ~ or dairy and nut-free substitutes
Instructions
- Pour cereal into a large bowl that allows room for stirring.
- Add peanut butter, butter or dairy-free substitute, and chocolate chips in a glass bowl or large glass measuring cup.
- Microwave for 30 seconds, stir the mixture and repeat until everything is melted and smooth.
- Stir in vanilla.
- Pour the chocolate mixture over the cereal, gently stirring and tossing with a spatula to coat each cereal piece.
- Add the powdered sugar and gently stir to coat the pieces evenly.
- Another option is to dump the chocolate-covered cereal into a 2-gallon ziploc bag. Add the powdered sugar and seal the bag. Gently shake the bag to coat the cereal with powdered sugar.
- Pour the coated cereal into a large bowl, along with one cup each of plain and/or peanut M&Ms in the celebration colors.
- Store in an airtight container at room temperature or refrigerate.
